Position:HR Generalist
Reporting to: HR Manager
Location: Edison, NJ
Type: Full Time, Hybrid
FLSA Status: Salary Exempt
Position Overview:
The HR Generalist plays a vital role in supporting the Human Resources department by assisting the HR Manager with various HR projects, managing recruitment processes, and providing general HR support to employees. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism.
Key Responsibilities:
HR Generalist Duties:
- Maintain and update employee records in HRIS/Payroll system, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
- Assist and prepare HR-related documents, such as employment offers, HR policies, and procedures.
- Assist with HR projects, including employee engagement initiatives, performance management, and training programs.
- Manage HR databases and systems, ensuring data integrity and generating reports as needed.
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding HR policies, procedures, and benefits.
Recruitment and Onboarding:
- Assist with recruitment by utilizing the company’s ATS by posting job advertisements, reviewing resumes, and scheduling interviews.
- Conduct initial screenings of candidates and coordinate interviews with hiring managers.
- Assist in conducting reference checks and verifying employment backgrounds.
- Prepare offer letters for successful candidates.
- Coordinate and conduct new employee orientation and onboarding processes.
Compliance and Legal:
- Stay up-to-date with relevant employment laws, regulations, and compliance requirements.
- Assist with ensuring HR policies and procedures are compliant with legal and regulatory standards.
- Support the HR team in conducting audits and implementing necessary corrective actions.
General HR Support:
- Maintain office supplies and manage HR-related documentation and filing systems.
- Schedule and coordinate meetings, interviews, and appointments for different departmental needs.
- Assist in organizing company events for the office, employee training sessions, and workshops.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
- HR certification (e.g., PHR, SHRM-CP)
- 2-3 years of work experience as an HR Generalist with a strong understanding of HR principles and practices.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize workload.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in HRIS, ATS, databases, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping and documentation.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with individuals at all levels of the organization.

Compensation and Benefits:
- $70,000-$75,000/annually + end of year bonus

Conditions for employment:
Candidates must have reliable transportation to work, and a valid driver’s license. Must submit to and comply with a background check prior to hiring. Must be able to lift and carry 25lbs. Must be able to speak and write English.
