Job Description
As the Human Resources Generalist, you will provide HR support to our employees.. This position will be responsible for assisting with day-to-day HR functions and assisting our employees with general HR questions.. The Human Resources Generalist will be responsible for supporting managers across multiple locations, assisting in employee investigations, and handling workers compensation claims. They will also be responsible for various HR projects and supporting other initiatives, like open enrollment, as needed.
Core ResponsibilitiesAdvise team leaders and team members on sensitive employee relations matters, including performance issues and disciplinary actions; advise and assist team leaders in identifying employee relations issues and determining appropriate course of action.
Assist with internal investigations; provide clear and concise documentation and consistent recommendations to leadership regarding resolution.
Ensure fair and consistent application of all established human resources policies and procedures and ensure fair and consistent application is followed throughout the facility.
Processes ADA, FMLA and other leave of absence requests in compliance with company policies and applicable laws.
Assist with facilitating all aspects of the workers compensation claim process. This will include filing and reviewing claims filed for completeness, reviewing documentation, and facilitating an employee’s return to work.
Assists with HR initiatives, such as, Open Enrollment, Engagement Surveys, etc. as needed.
Processes documentation for unemployment claims and documents participation at unemployment claim administrative hearings.
Compile data, generate reports, and analyze key HR metrics such as: turnover, demographics, retention, tenure, etc.
Assist with a variety of employee requests that come in through our internal ticketing system.
Other job duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or other business-related field or an equivalent amount of experience and training preferred.
A minimum of two years HR experience.
SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) credential preferred.
Team oriented with the ability to work independently.
Excellent communication skills.
Strong interpersonal skills, demonstrates flexibility as well as a strong commitment to building and sustaining relationships.
Ability to prioritize and complete projects within deadlines.
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.
Strong attention to detail while working in a fast-paced environment.
Exceptional analytical, problem identification, and problem-solving skills.
Must have the ability to balance competing priorities in a fast-paced work environment.
