The HR Coordinator with Zafar Produce is responsible for Employee Relations, HR Administration, and Recruiting. The HR Coordinator will ensure that effective internal procedures are being followed, handle employee-related issues, support recruiting and retention, while keeping performance at its peak.
Responsibilities:
- Work with hiring managers to place job postings, source candidates, perform phone screens, coordinate interviews, create offer letters and perform reference and background checks.
- Perform all new-hire onboarding including obtaining appropriate paperwork, reviewing and distributing as well as communicating any changes regarding the employee handbook, and assisting employees with signing up for benefits.
- Ensure legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable HR federal and state requirements, conducting investigations, and maintaining records.
- Counsel employees and supervisors and hear and resolve employee issues.
- Develop and maintain job descriptions for all positions.
- Assist with updating employee handbooks.
- Assist managers with administering the performance review program.
- Foster a safe work environment by developing and assisting managers with safety training.
- Support employee development by on going training with employees and managers.
- Prepare employee termination notices and related documentation. Conduct exit interviews to determine reasons behind separations. Represent the organization at personnel related hearings and investigations.
- Maintain a payroll summary.
- Verifying employee hours with department managers.
- Bi-annual 1-9 audits.
- Submitting timely workers compensation claims.
- Other duties as assigned.
Other Requirements:
- 3+ years Human Resource experience.
- Ability to connect with people and bring about solutions.
- Strong knowledge of HR policies and systems.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills; bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, etc.
- Good communication skills, writing skills, interpersonal skills, and ethical mindset.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred but not required.

Pay: $23.18 - $24.64 per hour
