- Valkyrie Enterprises is hiring for an experienced HR Business Partner/Generalist who will be a key support to the company’s Human Resources function (national/international), while being a strategic partner to our business operations. Position is based in our Virginia Beach corporate office. This position requires some flexibility of schedule and may occasionally work hours beyond a standard workweek.
- Primary job function will be client facing - supporting employees and management of our Sustainment and Modernization Business Area organization. The Business Area exists across various locations and this position will advise, collaborate, and execute HR-driven programs, policies, and processes.
- Position will perform professional level support of various HR disciplines to include employee relations, labor classification, compensation, workforce development, regulatory compliance, internal/external audit readiness, training of pre-established curriculum and developing needs-based training, and other employee programs as assigned.
- Standard duties may include reviewing/processing new hire paperwork, maintaining employee information in databases, conducting new hire orientation, explaining company benefits, and conducting employee exit interviews.
- Position will regularly interface with employees, business leaders of all levels, as well as a broad array of community and workforce development partners (such as state employment agencies and Veteran/Disability/Female/Minority advocacies).
- Candidate must have Bachelors in related field or at least 4 years of professional exempt Human Resources experience.
- Candidate must have broad HR generalist background supporting multiple HR disciplines.
- Candidate must have shipyard and or manufacturing HR support experience.
- Knowledge of state and federal regulatory requirements (to include but not limited to FLSA and ADA) is required and ability to stay abreast of regulatory changes.
- Candidate must have strong interpersonal skills to build trusting partnerships as well as effective verbal and written communication skills. Candidate must have comfort with public speaking and the ability to present to audiences of various size.
- Prior experience servicing national and international workforces in a generalist capacity is highly preferred.
- SHRM Certification, preferred
- Occasional travel-up to 15%
- If position requires travel by domestic flight or access to secure federal facilities/military bases, candidate must be able to obtain (by start of position) and maintain appropriate identification credentials, such as REAL ID. - Work generally performed in an office setting but may require occasional visits to industrial or shipboard settings.
- Will normally require minor lifting and carrying of boxes of supplies/equipment.
