The HR Business Partner will provide leadership in the areas of employee relations, performance management and employee engagement.
This role has an expectation of 4 days in the office per week, subject to change based on future business needs.
What you’ll be doing:
- Manage employee relations issues including investigating, advising, and making recommendations on internal claims of discrimination, harassment, workplace conflicts, and/or conduct in the workplace.
- Assist managers in resolving and preventing negative workplace conflicts and disagreements by creating action plans to address problem areas.
- Guide managers in the creation and administration of performance success plans.
- Advise and train managers and supervisors in best employee relations practices and strategies for managing supervisor problems and employee grievances. Develop further training as needed.
- Research and explain laws and legal affairs concerning employment to managers, supervisors, and employees.
- Lead our annual employee engagement survey process and work with leaders in developing action plans in response to survey results.
What we’re looking for:
- BS in Human Resources or related field
- Thorough understanding of state and federal laws concerning employment laws
- Ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply the appropriate sections of applicable laws, guidelines, regulations, ordinances, and policies
- Ability to remain tactful, calm, and persuasive in controversial and/or confrontational situations
- 8+ years of HR experience in an employee relations or workplace investigation environment; Experience with Canadian employee relations a plus
- Experience with HR management, HRIS, employee engagement, and understanding benefit and leave programs a plus
- Strong team work and communication skills
- Exceptional conflict management, interpersonal and communication skills
- Knowledge of relevant laws, rules, regulations, case law, principles, and practices related to employee conduct, performance, and dispute resolution.
