YOUR ROLE
In this role, you'll not only contribute to our mission but also shape the lives of individuals we serve. As a Human Resources Assistant, you'll be at the forefront of our recruitment efforts, ensuring the right talent joins our ranks. You'll also play a key role in welcoming new team members, fostering positive employee relations, maintaining organized employee files, and ensuring legal compliance.
This position’s key responsibilities include:
- Assists in the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources Department.
- Leads the recruitment process. This includes, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:
- Maintains position requisitions and candidates in the Applicant Tracking System. Ensures timely follow-up with candidates.
- Reviews applications, screens candidates and assesses them for position and cultural fit.
- Manages the interview process by scheduling candidates with the applicable hiring manager.
- Prepares offer letters and ensures candidates have the pertinent information necessary for their first day.
- Attends and participates in local job fairs.
- Hosts on-site open interviews at Company locations as needed.
- Maintains Human Resources Information System and electronic employee files. This includes processing new hires, terminations and changes in the Human Resources Information System.
- Assists the Human Resources Generalist with the new hire onboarding process. This includes, but is not limited to, new hire paperwork and I-9 compliance.
- Processes all unemployment notices and reviews potential charges in a timely manner, adhering to state deadlines.
- Completes employment verifications in a timely manner, adhering to Department standards.
- Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and Company policies.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE ROLE
- Associate’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
- Minimum of one (1) year of Human Resources experience required. High-volume recruitment experience strongly preferred.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
- SHRM-CP and/or PHR certifications a plus.
COMPENSATION
Goodwill regularly evaluates our compensation and benefit packages to ensure we remain competitive. The pay range for this position is $18/hour - $22/hour. Starting pay will be based on a candidate’s experience, skills and education.
