Housekeeper

Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Housekeeper/Laundry to join our team. As a Housekeeper/Laundry, you will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and tidiness in our assisted living community, as well as handling laundry duties. If you have a strong work ethic and enjoy providing exceptional service, we would love to hear from you.

Preferred Qualifications:

• High school education.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Minimum two years’ experience in either housekeeping or janitorial services. Have references and demonstrate experience.
• Must be self-motivated, organized, thorough, and able to follow instructions.
• Must be able to deal with emergencies, be flexible and cooperative in working with the elderly.

Responsibilities:
- Clean and maintain residents rooms, ensuring they are tidy and presentable
- Change bed linens and towels
- Vacuum carpets and sweep/mop floors
- Dust furniture and fixtures
- Empty trash containers and replace liners
- Replenish amenities such as toiletries and towels
- Report any maintenance issues or damages to the appropriate department
- Handle laundry duties, including washing, drying, folding, and ironing clothes and linens
- Sort and organize laundry items according to color, fabric type, and care instructions
- Operate laundry equipment in a safe and efficient manner
- Maintain cleanliness of the laundry area

Qualifications:
- Previous experience in an assisted living or similar setting is preferred
- Knowledge of laundering techniques and best practices
- Familiarity with different types of fabrics and their care requirements
- Ability to operate laundry equipment such as washers, dryers, and irons
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Excellent time management skills to ensure tasks are completed efficiently

Please note that this position may require standing for long periods of time and lifting heavy loads.

Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour
