The Hotel Front Desk Agent position plays a critical role in the success of the hotel. As a central position for interacting both with guests and other departments, great communication skills and a hospitable attitude is essential. This position is not just about getting tasks done but also influencing how we as a hotel make each guest feel. We want teammates that prioritize letting guests truly enjoy their stay as much as possible.
Handling payment transactions, making/modifying reservations, checking in and out guests and providing guests services such as addressing questions, concerns or complaints are all part of the position. Phone calls to the hotel are answered by the Front Desk and are addressed or redirected as needed. Shift tasks are in place to keep everything running smoothly as each day progresses. Substantial amount of work is on computers and will require a comfortable level of computer skills to operate the hotel PMS, Office and email programs. Other tasks such as maintaining a clean work environment are implied without detail.
While some shifts may have two attending the desk, most shifts will be alone and will require someone that can handle the pressure that come during high demand moments. Someone well organized and proactive will succeed. Someone cheerful and pleasant to interact with is a must.
