Restaurant Cashier Requirements and Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED certificate (preferred)
- Restaurant experience (preferred)
- Basic math skills
- Customer service skills
- Friendly disposition and strong work ethic
- Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to customers
- Take customer orders and provide recommendations based on their preferences
- Maintain a clean and organized bar area
- Check identification to verify legal drinking age
- Collect payment from customers and process transactions accurately
- Monitor customer behavior and ensure a safe and enjoyable atmosphere
- Restock bar supplies and inventory as needed
- Collaborate with other staff members to ensure efficient service

- Previous bartending experience preferred, but not required
- Knowledge of basic math for cash handling and making change
- Familiarity with bartending techniques, drink recipes, and mixology
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
- Strong customer service skills and the ability to engage with customers in a friendly manner
- Experience using a point-of-sale (POS) system for order processing and payment
Skills:
- Bartending: Knowledge of various alcoholic beverages, drink recipes, and mixing techniques.
- Basic math: Ability to perform calculations for cash handling, making change, and measuring ingredients.
- Cash handling: Experience handling cash transactions accurately and efficiently.
- Food handling: Understanding of food safety regulations and proper handling of food items.
- Food service: Knowledge of restaurant operations, including order taking, serving, and customer interaction.
- Sales: Ability to upsell and promote drink specials or menu items to increase sales.
- Catering: Experience in providing beverage service for catered events or functions.
- Retail math: Understanding of pricing, discounts, and calculations related to retail sales.
