Hospital Social Worker (Lmsw) - Outpatient Chemical Dependency

New York City health system seeks a Licensed Master Social Worker for their hospital in Brooklyn’s Outpatient Chemical Dependency Program.

Responsibilities:

• Under the supervision of program psychiatrist conducts mental status evaluations on patients in Chemical Dependency Services.
• As primary therapist is responsible for psychosocial assessment, treatment planning, discharge planning and primary care for patients on their caseload.
• Provides individual, family psychotherapy and/or supportive counseling.
• Conducts therapy groups, activity groups, psycho educational groups and behaviorally oriented substance abuse groups.
• Educates patients and families as appropriate to patient needs.

Qualifications:

• Masters Degree in Social Work
• Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW)
