Example of Duties
- Complete and submit annual Federal Cost Report for funding reimbursement
- Balances monthly ledger, assists in managing budget. Processes claims and transmits payment advises and assists in preparation of department budget.
- Process Medicaid and insurance information for all youth served. Maintains employee files and service records
- Prepares and submits occupancy reports, conducts historical research as requested and performs related duties as assigned.
- Communicates with vendors, stakeholders and colleagues
- Greets visitors and provides general administrative support to employees and attending to all incoming telephone calls and inquiries.
- Proven experience as a Finance Clerk, knowledge of booking and financial transactions, familiarity with financial regulations, auditing processes, knowledge of MS Office, spreadsheets and databases.
- College degree preferred or High school diploma with two years of work experience related to fiscal/finance responsibilities, or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- Must be 21 years of age and possess a valid driver’s license and demonstrated safe driving record.
- Working knowledge of standard office polies, practices, computer programs and Case Management Systems and the knowledge of both standard and digital filing systems with the ability to create and maintain accurate and complete department files and records.
- Working knowledge of and ability to comprehend and use a variety of informational documents and reference books
- Knowledge of Standard English grammar, spelling, and punctuation and ability to prepare detailed reports
- Ability to communicate effectively with youth placed in our care - to include supervise residents when needed as well as to effectively communicate orally and in writing with coworkers, other County departments, all Regulatory bodies, the public, and all stakeholders, including being sensitive to professional ethics, gender, cultural diversities and disabilities
- Ability to comply with all employer and department policies and work rules, including, but not limited to: attendance, safety, drug-free workplace, and personal conduct.
- Ability to understand, memorize, retain, and carry out written and oral instructions, and present findings in oral and written form with the skill to complete, collate, or classify data
- Ability to work alone with minimum supervision and with others in a team environment
