Our Summer Associate internships will be approximately 8 weeks in length and will begin Summer 2024. Summer Associate positions are for candidates with expected graduation date between December 2024-July 2025.
These positions are based in BRG's Boston, New York, Tampa, or Washington DC offices, and it requires working with colleagues in the office three to four days a week, on average.
BRG Health Analytics professionals bring extensive industry experience to deliver data driven and innovative approaches to complex business, legal and regulatory challenges. Our core strength is the ability to harness and analyze large amounts of electronic Healthcare Data and turn it into meaningful and insightful information. Healthcare companies trust our independent thinking and ability to solve unstructured problems. We serve a range of healthcare clients including health insurers, providers, life sciences companies, and the legal and financial firms that work within the industry.
BRG is seeking candidates for the entry-level Healthcare Data Analytics Summer Associate position. This position requires highly motivated problem solvers with solid analytical abilities, strong organizational skills, and a desire to advance within the organization. The work will involve the execution of project tasks that may be either quantitative or qualitative in nature, and responsibilities include analysis of large datasets, design of statistical and financial analyses, modeling of financial, transactional, and clinical data, quality control of data and results, development of client deliverables, and industry research.
Responsibilities:
- Perform detailed analysis and research (e.g., gather, review, and summarize literature and data from the public domain, specialized industry resources, or client, public, and
- commercial databases).
- Demonstrate creativity and efficient use of relevant software tools, analytical and statistical methods, and computer models to develop insights and solutions.
- Develop analyses and financial models using transactional data, financial data, medical claims, and pharmaceutical claims data.
- Develop and maintain electronic databases, spreadsheets, and other files as dictated by project needs.
- Communicate findings effectively with internal stakeholders and team members via oral presentations and written materials.
- Provide valuable contributions to client deliverables and expert reports.
- Participate in a team environment, collaborate with managers and experts, and prioritize assignments and responsibilities to meet goals and deadlines.
Qualifications:
- Progression towards a Bachelors or Masters with a focus in quantitative analytics (accounting, finance, economics, mathematics, data science, statistics, health economics, biostatistics, health informatics, information systems, public health) or related field;
- Candidates should have 0-2 years of experience, including internships;
- 3.5 GPA or higher
- Proven capability with MS Excel and relational database program(s) (e.g., MS SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle, Teradata) or statistical or data analysis programs (e.g., SAS, SPSS, Stata, R, Python) with a desire to expand those capabilities;
- Prior internship with experience in Data Analytics is preferred;
- Commitment to producing high quality analysis and attention to detail;
- Keen interest in economic, financial, and healthcare analysis and research;
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; and
- Desire to work within a team environment.
Hourly Range: $25-$35/hr
