About the Facility in Buffalo, NY:
The production facility located in Buffalo, NY processes 750 Million lbs. of milk annually. The facility manufactures Mozzarella, Provolone, Ricotta and Shredded cheeses in various formats for retail, food service and industrial customers as well as producing dried Whey Powder. The Buffalo plant employs 325 individuals in the Cheesemaking facility and another 50 employees in the Distribution Center located on the same site.

• Term: Summer (May to August)
Core Responsibilities:
Is responsible for assisting the packaging or production maintenance teams with tasks as assigned.
Will assisting both the engineering and maintenance teams with the installation and acceptance of new production and packaging equipment as well as various building construction projects. Works with the maintenance and engineering departments to optimize the current production and packaging processes.
o Identify opportunities for process improvement (PDCA)
o Review current production/packaging equipment and ensure consistent operation to specifications.
o Review equipment purchased for adherence to the equipment specifications.
? Suggest improvements which would enhance finished product quality, employee safety, and plant productivity.
? Participate in cross-functional teams as requested to represent the best practices in production and packaging and potential process innovations. Implement special projects and procedures as directed.

Requirements
Pursuing a degree (BS, MS) in Engineering or other related education.
Creativity, Attention to detail and accuracy in work required.
Personal qualities of tact and dependability and ability to work well with others required.
Strong communication abilities, written and verbal.
Knowledge of computer software.
Experience in the food/dairy industry is preferred.
Must be dependable and be able to work well in a team environment.
