Healthcare Customer Care Representative

The Customer Care Representative is responsible for making outbound calls to patients and providers to collect on accounts, and providing exemplary resolutions to all billing inquiries.

Schedule: Will be assigned a shift within the following hours - Monday through Thursday – 7:00am to 8:00pm CST, Friday 7:00am to 5:00pm CST, Saturday 9:00am to 1:00pm CST

Location: Can work remote, must reside in the Chicagoland area

Salary: $23.00/hour plus monthly bonus based on achieving key performance indicators

DAY TO DAY

• Make outbound calls to collect, post, and manage account payments
• Prepare and submit claims to insurance companies either electronically or manually
• Identify and resolving patient billing issues and complaints
• Evaluate patient financial status and establish payment plans or arrangements
• Report on status of delinquent accounts
• Correct and resubmit claims to insurance companies and third-party payers
• Investigate and correct rejected or denied claims
• Translate patient information into alphanumeric and numeric medical codes
• Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to all HIPPAA and FDCPA guidelines and regulations

WHAT YOU MUST POSSESS

Must Have:

• 3 to 5 years of experience in medical billing
• Experience in Collections
• Experience speaking with customers and insurance providers
• Knowledge of HIPPA and FDCPA
• Knowledge of medical coding, billing, and third-party billing procedures

Other Skills:

• Bilingual in Spanish is a plus
• Experience with Epic or Cerner is a strong plus
