Job Description:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Environmental Field Chemist who is eager to transition into a role as a Waste Approvals Chemist. In this senior-level position, you will play a critical role in managing and overseeing the approval processes for Hazardous Waste Disposal, ensuring regulatory compliance, and contributing to our mission of environmental responsibility.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead the approval process for Hazardous Waste Disposal, including the review and submission of waste profiles, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Collaborate with regulatory agencies, clients, and internal teams to resolve waste-related issues, provide expert guidance, and address technical questions.
  • Conduct site visits and field inspections to assess waste management practices and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop and implement waste management plans, procedures, and training programs to ensure proper handling, labeling, and storage of hazardous materials.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to junior staff, facilitating their growth and development in the field.
  • Maintain and update knowledge of environmental regulations, guidelines, and best practices to stay current with industry standards.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Environmental Science, or related field. A Master's degree is a plus.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as an environmental Field Chemist, with a strong understanding of Hazardous Waste regulations.
  • Proficiency in waste approval processes, including waste profiling, manifesting, and transportation requirements.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to liaise with clients, regulatory agencies, and internal teams.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and the capability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with environmental regulations, such as RCRA, TSCA, CERCLA, and state-specific requirements.
  • Previous supervisory or mentorship experience is a plus.
