Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Lead the approval process for Hazardous Waste Disposal, including the review and submission of waste profiles, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Collaborate with regulatory agencies, clients, and internal teams to resolve waste-related issues, provide expert guidance, and address technical questions.
- Conduct site visits and field inspections to assess waste management practices and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Develop and implement waste management plans, procedures, and training programs to ensure proper handling, labeling, and storage of hazardous materials.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance to junior staff, facilitating their growth and development in the field.
- Maintain and update knowledge of environmental regulations, guidelines, and best practices to stay current with industry standards.
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Environmental Science, or related field. A Master's degree is a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as an environmental Field Chemist, with a strong understanding of Hazardous Waste regulations.
- Proficiency in waste approval processes, including waste profiling, manifesting, and transportation requirements.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to liaise with clients, regulatory agencies, and internal teams.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and the capability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Familiarity with environmental regulations, such as RCRA, TSCA, CERCLA, and state-specific requirements.
- Previous supervisory or mentorship experience is a plus.
