As a Hardware Compliance Engineer on our Hardware team, you will lead certification efforts for Verkada's newest safety & security products. Hardware Compliance Engineers partner with our Hardware Engineers, Mechanical Engineers and Program Managers to navigate the new product introduction process; you will own regulatory efforts from concept definition through to mass production & shipping across the globe.

At Verkada, we want to attract and retain the best employees, and compensate them in a way that appropriately and fairly values their individual contribution to the company. With that in mind, we carefully consider a number of factors to determine the appropriate starting pay for an employee, including their primary work location and an assessment of a candidate's skills and experience, as well as market demands and internal parity. This estimate can vary based on the factors described above, so the actual starting annual base salary may be above or below this range. This estimate is also just one component of Verkada's total rewards package. A Verkada employee may be eligible for additional forms of compensation, depending on their role, including sales incentives, discretionary bonuses, and/or equity in the company in the form of Restricted Stock Units (RSUs).

Responsibilities
- Serve as the Alarms team's subject matter expert for certifications relevant to our next generation of safety & security products. Steer all-new hardware products through a growing set of global compliance requirements.
- Work directly with EE, ME and ID team members to develop and validate high performing design solutions. Translate safety standards into clear product requirements & test plans.
- Get hands on with hardware testing and troubleshooting. Help EE and ME counterparts overcome compliance and certification challenges throughout all testing and validation phases.
- Drive key compliance related deliverables. Define key requirements, develop test plans, own technical documentation and coordinate various testing efforts with external labs or regulatory bodies.
- Play a key role in global market access. Lead research, planning and documentation for compliance initiatives across the globe.
Requirements
- BS in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.
- Strong technical knowledge of electrical or mechanical design, validation and debug.
- Strong track record of success developing, manufacturing and shipping new electronic products.
- Prior exposure to or willingness to deep dive into compliance standards relevant to Verkada product safety (e.g. UL 62368-1, UL 2610, EN 50131, UL 294, UL 2905, etc).
- Excellent organizational skills and written and verbal communication.
- Flexible and adaptive in a fast-paced startup environment.
- Ability to travel domestically & internationally up to 15%.

- Direct experience leading compliance / regulatory efforts for relevant hardware products.
- Exposure to wireless & EMC related standards in addition to product safety.
- Experience working with overseas vendors & an international supply chain.
