Group Director, Brand Marketing Watches & Fine Jewelry

About the Role:
CHANEL is looking for a Group Director of Brand Marketing to join our Watches & Fine Jewelry Division in New York. You will play a leading role in defining which activities will best help the Division drive scale. You will manage a dynamic team, and shape direction and strategy for the Division. This role interfaces with Retail, Lease and Wholesale teams and is a key partner for multiple corporate functions, including PR, Media, Artistic Direction and Digital. Our ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of experience and a passion for Watches & Fine Jewelry.
What Impact You Can Create at CHANEL:
Development and Execution of local Marketing plans:
  • Manage the strategic marketing planning process for the Watches and Fine Jewelry categories specific to the US market
  • Develop and implement effective marketing programs and initiatives, based on Global directives, across all channels of distribution (retail boutiques and wholesale accounts)
  • Collaborate with internal shared services on all relevant marketing projects (Media, Digital, CRM, Artistic Direction, Events, PR), and manage the briefing process
  • Oversee the management of the events calendar and respective budget process
  • Oversee the development of all co-op plans for MBR and the management of the co-op budget
  • Contribute to the management and development of the US Marketing Budget
Reporting and Analysis:
  • Elevate the level of analytical rigor across the department focused around core business drivers and post-campaign reporting
  • Lead the competitive analysis of the US watch and jewelry landscape including the annual US price benchmarking study
Support and Animate the Networks:
  • Lead in the development of projects related to sharing information with cross-functional and retail/MBR partners, including the Product News updates
  • Collaborate on the development of the Retail and MBR action plans with the sales team
  • Manage the marketing priorities to allow sales targets to be reached and success of new product launches
  • Contribute to the success of brand image building moments (i.e. events, pop up stores, etc.)

  • Interface with a diversified retail network, including CHANEL boutiques, department stores and independent jewelers
What You Will Bring To the Team:
  • Bachelor's degree required or equivalent experience
  • Strong analytical skills are a must
  • Highly proficient in Excel and PowerPoint
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and evolving business environment
  • Watch and Fine Jewelry experience strongly preferred
  • Experience working in complex, multi-faceted and global business cultures a plus
  • French language skills a plus
Position Logistics:
  • Minimum 10 years Brand Marketing experience or equivalent
  • Minimum of 3 years in a managerial role with direct reports
  • Ability to travel both international and domestic up to 15%
Compensation:
The anticipated base salary range for this position is $127,000 through $160,000. Base salary is one component of the total compensation for this position. Other components [may/will] include additional compensation, benefits and perks.
