The Associate Director (AMD) is responsible for collaborating with clients to help lead the strategic direction with the team. The AMD is responsible for communicating with the specialized disciplines, i.e. Activation, Broadcast Traffic, Digital Project Management and Search/Social to develop a campaign strategy which supports client goals. The AMD is also responsible for identifying and educating on emerging market trends and technologies as they relate to specific campaigns. This is a key leadership role within our organization, requiring strong analytical skills, strategic thinking, and a deep understanding of the media landscape.
Responsibilities:
- Overseeing strategic communications planning, as well as leading hand’s-on media plan development and print negotiation.
- Assist SVP in continuously educating media and marketing clients of the constantly evolving media landscape and evolving consumer insights (in short, thought leadership)
- Provide guidance to team members on client assignments; developing the strategic framework for media planning, measurement and tracking, within which plans will be developed
- Lead, manage and develop a communications team; as well as working in partnership with the larger, cross-functional, and partner with client’s in-house team and specialty agencies as needed.
- Managing the process and procedure for client set up, billing and all administrative function
- Evaluating composition of a wide range of media vehicles to determine which would most effectively reach the target audience
- Develop a strong and clear POV on client projects and requests while being confident to challenge direction if it’s beneficial to client’s business.
- Ability to maintain strong relationships across clients and vendors.
Qualification:
- Bachelor’s degree; 4+ years media planning experience with a focus on communications planning including broadcast, print, OOH & digital planning across both National and Geo-targeted initiatives.
- Proven experience as a Media Director or similar role in a fast-paced environment
- Detail-oriented and proven ability to thrive in a fast paced environment, sometimes unpredictable accounts
- Excellent management and motivational skills
- Proven plan and presentation writer, in addition to strong business writing (samples would be helpful)
- Hands-on planning, buying, management and analysis of: Sites/apps, networks, exchanges, search, video
- Media ad serving, tracking and analysis
- Media Research (e.g., Kantar, ComScore, Nielsen)
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal and quantitative/analytical skills
- Candidate must be aware of digital trends, cultural trends, social media, blogs, posts, who is innovating in the cultural space, etc
- Proficiency in MS-Word, Excel and PowerPoint, media planning tools
- Familiarity with performance marketing strategies and social media marketing best practices
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex ideas clearly
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team

Pay: $110,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
