About This Opportunity
We are seeking a Graphic Designer to support the overall marketing and design activities of the Market Development team and help Cascade Energy to deliver professionally designed materials. The candidate will be primarily responsible for creating and developing marketing campaign collateral, presentation and proposal graphics, and energy efficiency program curricula and materials. They will work under the direction of the Marketing Operations Manager and in close collaboration with another Graphic Designer and the Market Development team to ensure projects and deliverables are completed in a timely manner, and are of the highest quality, consistent with Cascade and Client branding guidelines. They will strive to meet accessibility standards set by clients and Cascade. They will interact routinely with other teams across the company and will need to possess skills in communication, collaboration, information gathering, and task management. This position requires a strong ability to cultivate and maintain positive working relationships with a wide range of colleagues and customers and enjoy interpersonal communication.
What You Will Be Doing:
Develop Marketing Materials:

• Creating visual elements such as logos, original images, and illustrations, as well as design of marketing collateral, presentation materials, social media campaigns, educational curricula, photography, videos, and web pages in collaboration with the Market Development team.
• Produce graphics (maps, graphs, charts, infographics, images, etc.) to be included in marketing collateral and other internally and externally facing materials.
• Visualize complex technical and scientific information that can engage diverse audiences.
• Maintain and implement Style Guides which ensure all materials are consistent with Cascade’s branding guidelines and quality standards. Perform final reviews of marketing materials to ensure compliance with Cascade’s brand standards.

Manage Design Projects:

• Work under the direction of the Marketing Operations Manager to produce a portfolio of design projects.
• Plan, execute, and finalize projects according to deadlines and within budget.
• Gather and synthesize multiple client brands and assets in order to develop materials to support energy efficiency program recruitment and delivery.
• Work with vendors to place print orders for delivery of materials across the country.

This is a full-time, exempt position to be located in Portland OR. It is preferred the candidate will be in person at the office at least 1x per week to collaborate with others, along with occasional in-office meetings to review designed materials, team meetings, etc. We want someone who is visibly present – not fully remote and freelance.
Minimal travel is anticipated for this role.
Qualifications
Applicants for this role are required to have:

• High School diploma or, preferred, Associates Degree in Graphic Design or equivalent
• 3 or more years of experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Experience in designing for accessibility

A successful candidate should also demonstrate these preferred characteristics and/or skills:

• Advanced understanding of the fundamentals, principles, and processes of graphic design.
• Advanced proficiency with Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and other CC products, as well as the Microsoft Office Suite (especially Word, PowerPoint, and SharePoint)
• Typography: strong understanding of font pairing, kerning, leading, and color theory
• Photography and image editing
• Creativity and Innovation to generate new ideas and think outside the box
• Proficiency with video editing software, such as Canva, Camtasia, and Adobe Premier Pro

Compensation & Benefits
Our total rewards include competitive pay and excellent benefits. These include health (90% paid for team member, 70% paid for dependents on HDHP plans and 85% paid for team member, 65% paid for dependents on PPO plans), vision, FSA or HSA options with an employer contribution, life insurance, short- and long-term disability insurance, paid parental leave, 401k retirement plan with a guaranteed 3% contribution, Employee Stock Ownership Program (ESOP), annual cash performance bonus, paid vacation, sick time, and an inclusive, flexible paid holiday policy. New for 2024 – we are excited to add an additional wellbeing contribution of $500 for HSA, FSA, or LSA (Lifestyle Spending Account).
The salary range for this position to be located in Portland OR is $70,000 - $80,000/year. However, final salary offered may vary depending on non-discriminatory factors such as job-related knowledge, skills and experiences, and geographical location if different than the above.
