JOB DESCRIPTION
The Grants & Contracts Associate will be responsible for: supporting the Compliance & Business Development Director in applying for and ensuring compliance with all public Grants and Contracts. This position will have direct contact with funders and will support with all financial and data reporting duties. In addition, they will review all grant/contract related general ledger accounts, perform internal audits, and assist with financial statement preparation at close of fiscal year.

COMPENSATION
$30.99 - $40.36/hour. Full time; non-exempt, eligible for overtime.
Compensation based on education and experience.

Compliance & Business Development Director
QUALIFICATIONS
Required: High School Diploma or GED. Experience in GL analysis, budget preparation, audit schedule preparation and account reconciliation. Advanced knowledge of Excel is required and other Office programs. Previous experience with writing grants, and grant compliance. Excellent writing skills. Good interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment.
Preferred: Bachelor's degree in a related field such as accounting, and two years of experience in grant budgeting, writing, and reporting as well as financial analysis. Advanced Microsoft Office Application Certification and/or education in a business or technical field as well as experience deploying Salesforce systems. Experience working in the government and/or non-profit sector particularly in the field of mental health, experience working with various types of grant tracking/reporting/outcomes measurement systems and experience using business intelligence and analytic software tools or file management systems (Sharepoint) is a plus. Salesforce.com certified administrator preferred.
Driver's license for at least two years and driving record acceptable to insurance carrier.
Valid California driver's license; auto in safe operating condition; auto liability insurance; good driving record; criminal record clearance; proof of authorization to work in the United States as required by Immigration and Reform Act of 1986. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepares all compliance reports required by Compliance Director.
- Assists in the development and maintenance of financial reporting systems as it relates to compliance to ensure integrity of finances based on sound accounting procedures and controls.
- Prepares all financial data required by the Compliance Director. This includes, but is not limited to: budgets, budget to actuals reports, review of general ledge accounts monthly to make sure that all entries are recorded accurately and according to GAAP for grants only, financial statement preparation for schedule of federal awards and other assigned schedules for the annual audit.
- Supports with financial administrative tasks.
- Prepares reports related to housing contracts for annual compliance.
- Reviews and analyzes program data with the Business Systems Analyst; obtains data for grant reports and grant budgets for all funding sources including quarterly, semi-annual, and annual reports.
- Supports the Compliance Director in pulling reports, and reviewing revenue and expenditures on all governmental grants/contracts.
- Helps to develop policies and procedures as well as helps with contract oversight for new funding thereby ensuring compliance with Grants and contract requirements in fiscal, programmatic, and housing areas.
- Collaborates with the Business Systems Analyst on all data sharing and reporting platforms.
- Assists the Compliance Director with writing grant and contract applications as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Ability to: operate a motor vehicle; climb stairs; possess good communication skills; meet the requirements of the classification and have mobility, vision, hearing and dexterity levels appropriate to the duties to be performed. Capable of the following extended activities: standing, sitting, climbing stairs. Capable of the following intermittent activities: lifting 25 pounds or more and bending in the performance of infrequently performed office duties.
