ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR, TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT (PART-TIME CONTRACT)
 
Day One Biopharmaceuticals is an emerging, mission-driven, drug development company intentionally designed to identify, clinically evaluate, and successfully commercialize novel treatments for pediatric oncology patients, and ultimately to expand those benefits to patients of all ages. POSITION SUMMARY:
 
The Associate Director of Training and Development will play a crucial role in building and enhancing the organizational capabilities of Day One Biopharmaceuticals. This individual will design, implement, and manage comprehensive training programs aimed at enhancing performance excellence, career development, coaching, feedback mechanisms, team performance, and handling crucial conversations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in organizational development, training facilitation, and a deep understanding of performance management best practices. This position has the potential to be fully remote. Occasional travel will be required for in person meetings.
This position will be approximately 20 hours/week.
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
 
Develop and Implement Training Programs:
·       Design and deliver engaging training programs and workshops on performance excellence, career development, coaching, feedback (giving and receiving), team performance, and crucial conversations.
·       Assess training needs through surveys, interviews with employees, and consultation with managers.
 
Performance Management:
·       Create and implement tools and frameworks to support performance management and career development.
·       Develop processes for continuous feedback and performance evaluations.
 
Career Development:
·       Develop and manage programs that support employee career growth and Development.
·       Provide coaching and guidance on career pathways, skill development, and career progression.
 
Team Performance:
·       Facilitate team-building activities and workshops to enhance team cohesion and performance.
·       Implement strategies for improving team dynamics and collaboration.
 
Coaching and Feedback:
·       Provide training on effective coaching techniques and feedback delivery for peer to peer, manager to/from employee, and within intact teams
·       Create tools and resources to support team leaders, managers, and employees in providing constructive feedback.
 
Crucial Conversations:
·       Train team leaders, employees, and managers on handling difficult conversations effectively.
·       Develop resources to guide employees through complex interpersonal interactions.
 
Continuous Improvement:
·       Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of Training programs and initiatives.
·       Collect and analyze feedback to refine and improve training content and delivery methods.
 
QUALIFICATIONS:
 
·       Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Education, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.
·       5-7 years of experience in Training and Development, organizational development, or a related field.
·       Proven experience in designing and delivering training programs for diverse audiences.
·       Strong knowledge of performance management, coaching, career development, and feedback processes.
·       Excellent presentation and facilitation skills.
·       Strong project management and organizational skills.
·       Ability to analyze and assess training needs and outcomes.
·       Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
·       Proficiency with training tools and software.
·       Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
·       Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to challenges.
·       Passionate about employee development and organizational excellence.

COMPENSATION
 
The hourly rate for this position is $90-$110/hour. Day One Bio considers a range of factors when determining compensation. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary.
