POSITION SUMMARY:
Prepares and reviews grant applications/awards in conformance with established criteria and compliance with provisions of laws and regulations; ensures on-going compliance with regulations and legal use of funds; confers with awarding agencies, grantees, contractors and sub-grantees on administrative procedures and billing. Responsible for the development of grants programs followed by monitoring, evaluating and reporting on grant activities.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepares and reviews grant applications/awards for compliance with State and Federal requirements, feasibility and cost effectiveness.
- Maintains tracking system of grant revenues and expenditures.
- Researches, collects and analyzes grant data to identify trends and prepares reports for management.
- Identifies program deficiencies and makes recommendations for corrective action.
- Responds to inquiries regarding grant availability, requirements and application procedures.
- Notifies grant applicants/awardees of program procedures, deadlines and status.
- Provides technical assistance and advises grantees/awardees on interpretation of program regulations and guidelines.
- Identifies training needs and provides technical assistance and training for grant recipients in the following areas: interpreting regulations, rules and policies; developing proposals, operating plans and procedures; feasibility of program design; program limitations and requirements; and grant development and negotiation.
- Responsible for developing corrective actions for compliance or resolution to negative findings or poor performance.
- Assists by providing general program administrative support.
- Assists in development, planning and implementation of training.
- Performs other related duties and responsibilities that may be assigned.

- High School graduate or equivalent.
- Bachelor's Degree with five to ten years' experience in related field.
- Proficient in research, multi-tasking, technical writing and/or creative writing
- Experience developing grant contracts including identifying program requirements, goals, timetables and funding needs.
- Possess ability to work effectively and independently with highly confidential information, excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to express ideas clearly and concisely.
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
