Work hours: Full Time, 40 hours/week, Monday – Friday 8:00am-5:00pm

- The purpose of Government Affairs and Advocacy is to advocate for Texas Health Resources in the public policy arena to enhance health care delivery and strengthen the capacity of the organization to improve the health of the people in the communities we serve.

- As part of the larger Government and Community Affairs department, Government Affairs and Advocacy provides system-wide support through advocacy, collaboration, and engagement and works to build and strengthen relationships with key business, industry and community stakeholders whose goals are strategically aligned with the Mission, Vision and Values of Texas Health Resources.
Here’s What You Need
Education
- Bachelor's Degree Public relations, public policy, political science, legal studies, communications, public relations, public administration, or related field is required is required.
- Master's Degree Master's degree in related field is preferred is preferred.
Experience
- 2 Years Relevant government relations experience working with government officials/regulatory agencies and/or health care industry organizations is required. is required.
What You Will Do
- Proactively plan and coordinate system wide (corporate) and entity (wholly-owned hospitals) activities/visits with elected and appointed officials representing all levels of government, including staff communications and support, preparation of background materials, fact sheets, talking points, and meeting documents.
- Conduct policy analysis and research on important policy issues and provide in-depth assessment on their potential impact on the organization.
- Serve as system advocacy expert who collaborates with brand experience and public relations teams to develop internal and external communications on advocacy and public policy strategy. Implement initiatives to identify, communicate, educate, and engage with Texas Health Resources' key stakeholders (i.e., trustees, clinicians, employees, volunteers, and partners).
- Support the Government Affairs & advocacy department and the needs of senior leadership by developing key messages, presentations, white papers, policy projects, talking points, fact sheets, testimony, letters, as well as respond to requests for public policy information and data.
