Vice President of Government and Regulatory Affairs
JERA Americas is searching for a Vice President of Government and Regulatory Affairs to join our growing team!

What you will do:
The Vice President of Government and Regulatory Affairs represents the organization in matters involving federal, state, and local governments by providing policy direction and coordinating efforts of operating JERA Americas.
This role will lead engagement with government entities and Regulatory bodies at the local, state, and federal levels. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of Government affairs, public policy, and relevant regulations that impact our industry. They will leverage their experience and network to advocate for policies that align with JERA's mission and business objectives

- Provide advice regarding government relations and Regulatory matters.
- Lead a team of market experts both full time and consultants in the Energy Markets important to JERA Americas business (e.g. NYISO, NEISO, PJM, ERCOT, MISO, CAISO)
- Have a good understanding of energy market rules and policies
- Build and maintain strong relationships with government officials, legislators, and relevant stakeholders at all levels of Government to promote JERA Americas' goals and interests.
- Lead outreach to governmental entities and agencies at the federal, state and local levels.
- Stay current with industry regulations and monitor proposed regulatory changes, ensuring JERA's full compliance.
- Develop strategies to influence regulatory decisions in favor of our organization.
- Assist in evaluating various activities of JERA Americas for potential impact by governmental entities and agencies.
- Collaborate with the executive team to develop and implement a comprehensive government affairs strategy that aligns with business objectives.
- Develop governmental outreach plans as needed for activities of JERA Americas.
- Be prepared to address and manage unexpected regulatory or legislative challenges that may arise and impact JERA Americas.
- Work closely with legal counsel to provide insight on potential regulatory issues and ensure a coordinated approach to managing legal and Regulatory matters.
- Regularly track legislative and Regulatory developments, providing timely updates and analysis to the executive team.
- Oversee the budget for Government and Regulatory Affairs activities, ensuring resources are allocated effectively and efficiently.
- Business travel is expected for this position.
What you need:
- Bachelor's degree
- A minimum of 15 years in government or private sector policy advocacy experience.
- In-depth knowledge of and experience with legislative and administrative policy making.
Nice to have:
- Master's degree in law, political science, public administration, public policy or related field.
