Joel's Chophouse at the Ahern Hotel & Convention Center is seeking a Gourmet Food Runner to join our team!
SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES
The Gourmet Food Runner is responsible for running items from the kitchen to the guests in a timely, organized fashion. The expectations are to serve guests holding the highest standard and leave them with an unforgettable experience. The Gourmet Food Runner is expected to give genuine, professional service that no other restaurant can match. Our goal at Joel’s Chophouse is to stand above and beyond the rest and to be a one-of-a-kind, must-go-to restaurant in Las Vegas.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Greet guests in a positive, friendly manner and make them feel welcome.
- Be able to expedite kitchen, organize tickets and ticket times.
- Be able to describe every dish to guest highlighting any modifications and/or allergies.
- Be able to “drop” dishes according to seat number.
- Stock expo line with proper dishes and serving utensils.
- Anticipate guest needs and respond appropriately with a sense of urgency.
- Communicate with management, chef, and culinary staff in order to fulfill and address any issues or needs requested by guests and/or employees.
- Perform other job-related duties as requested.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of 1-2 years of fine dining experience preferred.
- Excellent customer service skills and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with all business contacts.
- Knowledge of menu items, including characteristics of wine and champagne by the glass, major wines, liquor brands, beer, non-alcoholic beverages, designated glassware, terminology and garnishes.
- Knowledge of health, safety and sanitation regulations.
- Basic knowledge of Point of Sales (POS) systems and computer software to include Microsoft Office as well as office equipment.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
PHYSICAL REQUIRMENTS
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms; talk or hear; and taste or smell. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- For Full-Time employees, expect to work an 8-hour shift on average, including weekends and holidays.
- Comply with the brand and hygiene policies.
