Core Job Responsibilities:
The Food Runner fulfills an integral role in the restaurant and acts as a point of contact between the Front and Back of the House. The Food Runner will be responsible for communicating food orders to Chefs, paying attention to order notations and ensuring that plate(s) presentations are of the highest standard.
Primary Job Duties: – Includes, but is not limited to:
- Act as a liaison between the Front of House and Back of House team members.
- Ensure quality of food preparation and presentation meets department standards.
- Maintain a clean, sanitized and organized work area.
- Assist servers with clearing unused plate(s) and china in between food courses.
- Ensure guests have a high-quality dining experience.
- Rotate to other Food & Beverage outlets/venues, as necessary.
- Ensure all ¡VIVA! core values and property and department standards are implemented and applied.
- Obtain and maintain position-specific licensing.
- Use personal device/cellular phone for job related operational tasks, job duties, review company documents, etc.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Required:
- At least one year of previous food running experience in a similar or related field.
- Ability to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.
- Ability to effectively communicate in English.
- Polished appearance and demeanor.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to obtain & maintain full knowledge and understanding of company and department rules and regulations, policies and procedures.
- At least 18 years of age.
Preferred:
- Previous experience working in a large, luxury resort setting.
