General Manager - Cannabis Retail Dispensary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced General Manager to oversee our new Dispensary in Caspian, MI.

About this Role

The role of a General Manager is to oversee the retail operation of a dispensary and lead the local team to deliver an exceptional retail experience. This involves leading by example in serving your fellow team members and retail guests and working with company experts in value streams such as HR, Finance and Compliance.

The General Manager is also responsible for the efficient and profitable operation of the retail location. The General Manager will also be expected to step in and assist with reception, inventory management and retail floor activities such as advising patients and customers when needed.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Retail Culture & Experience

· Setting and leading an exceptional retail experience for guests

· Interview and evaluate job applicants and make hiring recommendations

· Train, coach, manage, and evaluate employee performance on an ongoing basis

· Ensure retail teams are aligned with and always reflecting company values

· Creating a quality work experience for the retail team, and establishing and maintaining a welcoming and productive work environment

· Lead staff to deliver the highest level of customer service

· Provides consistent constructive feedback that educates and motivates the team and fosters an environment of growth and development

· Manage and direct the activities of the dispensary and team, including oversight of local store employee scheduling

· Review and approve timecards, requests for paid time off, and other administrative duties related to employee management

· Address issues that arise from employees or customers

· Conduct personnel performance appraisals to provide feedback, assess training needs and build career paths

· Propose innovative ideas to increase brand awareness and improve retail operations

· Create and reinforce a proactive selling culture that focuses on building a confident and competent team, building a loyal customer following through clear and positive communication

· Maintain in-depth knowledge of products and strains in the store, as well as industry-wide product knowledge

· Provide education for staff about medical cannabis strains, edibles, concentrates, and routes of administration

· Participate in developing and implementing operational rules, regulations, policies, and procedures to ensure optimal efficiency of Retail

· Maintain outstanding store condition and visual merchandising standards as it aligns with brand standards.

· Ensure the safety and satisfaction of both our guests and team members

Retail Compliance & Performance

· Ensure the dispensary remains compliant with security, inventory, and local and state regulations

· Work in partnership with inventory & purchasing teams to create deals and specials that promote increased foot traffic

· Oversee and manage product inventory in partnership with Inventory leaders

· Report on buying trends, customer needs, profits etc.

· Manage financial records and cash handling procedures

Required Skills/Abilities:

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills

· Proactive and independent with the ability to take initiative

· Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines

· Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software

· Understanding of FlowHub and/or METRC

Education and Experience

· Bachelor's degree or higher preferred; High School Diploma or equivalent required

· 5+ years customer service experience (preferably retail)

· 3-5 years management/leadership experience (preferably retail)

· Cannabis industry experience a plus

Physical Requirements:

· Regularly required to sit and stand for long periods of time

· Use hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls.

· Reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.

· Must be able to stoop, bend, and squat

· Occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.

· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Pay: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
