GENERAL FUNCTION
The Manufacturing Operations Manager directs the manufacture of prescription eyewear in a high volume, mixed model environment. Leads supervisors and production teams to successfully achieve daily performance goals and objectives established by facility leaders. Maintains a safe working environment and promotes a culture of associate engagement that provides opportunities for growth and advancement.MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Determines staffing requirements.
- Hires and trains new staff.
- Supervises direct reporting staff according to Luxottica Characteristics.
- Sets employee goals and objectives.
- Develops staff to maximize potential.
- Evaluates current business processes and systems.
- Plans and implement. procedures and systems to continuously improve operations.
- Establishes and maintains controls.
- Formulates department/unit policies and practices.
- Coordinates financial and budget activities for maximum operational efficiency.
- Facilitates the preparation and analysis of reports.
- Responsible for the achievement of department/division/unit productivity and quality goals.
- Organizes and manages business meetings
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree
- 6+ years of experience in related field
- Knowledge of business and management principles and practices
- Knowledge of strategic planning
- Knowledge of human resource management principles and procedures
- Knowledge of basic economic and accounting principles and practices
- Knowledge of office administrative procedures
- Proficient in relevant software applications
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Good judgment and decision making skills
- Good planning and organizational skills
- Problem analysis and problem solving skills
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Supervisory experience
Employee pay is determined by multiple factors, including geography, experience, qualifications, skills and local minimum wage requirements.
