Job Summary:
We are seeking a Timeshare Assistant General Manager (AGM) who is an experienced leader in the Guest Services and Housekeeping departments, and be able to confidently deliver performance feedback, set goals, foster teamwork, and clearly communicate business objectives.
As the AGM, you must be able to motivate and positively influence resort department leaders and resort associates. A top candidate for this position must have strong leadership and organizational skills. The AGM should be firm, but also approachable. In this role, you will assist the General Manager in directing daily business operations of the resort with a direct focus on Guest Services and Housekeeping. The AGM must be able to competently perform duties in the absence of the General Manager and perform Manager on Duty Roles on Weekends and Holidays. The Ideal Candidate will have 10 years of Resort and/or Hotel Management Experience, specifically in the Guest Services and Housekeeping departments of a mid to large scale resort and/or combination of experience and a Hotel Management degree. Vacation Ownership experience is a plus, but not required.
Essential Functions:
· Effectively handle and fulfill all owner/guest requests and issues
· Maintain a flexible work schedule – Weekends and Holidays are required
· Ensure that a member of management is available for emergencies 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
· Ensure proper scheduling of all employees and maintain proper scheduling of managers.
· Recruit, interview, hire, and ensure proper training of new employees and resort leaders.
· Provide staff with the skills training to provide value-added hospitality services to owners & guests
· Proactively sign-up for and attend relevant corporate training courses
· Conduct coaching and counseling and take disciplinary action as needed in compliance with Soleil Management and resort policies and procedure
· Appropriately respond to and document accidents and incidents.
· Ensure safety, OSHA, HazCom, MSDS and GHS, compliance in all areas of the resort.
· Meet or exceed RCI ratings for a Gold Crown Resort.
· Meet or exceed Interval International’s resort rating for a Premier Resort.
· Develop, maintain and promote relationships inter-departmentally across the company as well as with outside vendors and carriers.
· Develop and implement strategies to achieve front desk retail sales and upgrade goals. Communicate with corporate revenue team to and assist with on-line revenue budgeted goals where necessary.
· Control costs by adhering to standards of operations for forecasting, budgeting, scheduling payroll control and other expense management systems.
· Ensure that the resort’s operating costs are within budgetary guidelines and hold department heads responsible for their respective areas as assigned by the general manager. Will assist General Manager in Forecasting and budgeting for all departments.
· Ability to compile and analyze data and make sensible assumptions accordingly
· Proactively address any and all issues that could negatively affect overall resort quality and seek methods to improve efficiency, cost savings and overall quality
· Perform all other job requests as assigned by the General Manager.
Job Specifications:
· Basic understanding and knowledge base of Resort Property Management Systems and Reporting.
· Beginner to Intermediate skill level in Excel, including ability to enter and format data as well as write basic formulas (sum, average, count).
· Excellent oral and written English communication skills.
· Excellent customer service skills – Ability to lead by example
· Must have professional appearance.
· Must have the ability to create and adjust budgets. Must have the ability to read a P&L statement and learn to create a budget
