General Ledger Accountant / Accounting Specialist

Matchbook Wine Company, a family-owned winery in Yolo County, is seeking Full Charge Bookkeeper / Accounting Specialist to join our organization.

Job Description:

This position will report to the Accounting Manager and performs accounting tasks including Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable. Human Resource and inventory experience a plus.

Job duties include, but are not limited to:

General Ledger

· Account reconciliations with month-end, quarterly, and year-end journal entry postings including Fixed Assets, Prepaids, Loans, etc.

· Inventory Management 

Accounts Receivable

· Daily invoicing of Shipped Orders

· Daily invoicing of Tasting Room retail sales

· Accounts Receivable and Collections

· Daily recording and tracking of bank activity

Accounts Payable

· Daily entry of vendor invoices

· Monitoring and downloading invoices from vendor portals

· Communicating with Managers and Outside Sales Reps for invoice approvals

· Weekly check run

Human Resources and Inventory management a plus

Qualifications:

· Needs to have 2 to 3 years of experience in accounting, preferably in the wine industry or in manufacturing. Farm accounting also helpful

· Should possess excellent verbal and written communication skills

· Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

· Ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks with changing priorities

· Proficiency in MS Office

· Knowledge of Advanced Management Systems (AMS) Software a plus

· A Bachelor’s degree in Business with an emphasis in Accounting or Finance or equivalent work experience
