Job Description: General Ledger Accountant
Responsibilities:
- General Ledger Maintenance: Ensure accurate and complete data in the General Ledger, following GAAP.
- Journal Entries: Record financial transactions via journal entries, including accruals and prepayments.
- Reconciliation: Regularly reconcile balance sheet accounts, identifying and resolving discrepancies.
- Financial Analysis: Analyze financial statements to spot trends, variances, and anomalies.
- Month-End and Year-End Closing: Contribute to timely and accurate closing processes.
- Compliance: Ensure adherence to financial regulations, working with external auditors and regulators when needed.
- Financial Reporting: Assist in preparing reports for both internal and external stakeholders.
- Documentation: Maintain organized and accurate financial records and audit trails.
- Process Improvement: Seek opportunities to enhance financial operations through process improvements and automation.
- Ad Hoc Projects: Contribute to special financial projects to support organizational goals.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Accounting experience with General Ledger focus.
- Proficiency in accounting software and GAAP.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills.
- Effective communication and teamwork.
- CPA certification preferred.
- Tax knowledge a plus.
