Job Description: General Ledger Accountant

Responsibilities:

• General Ledger Maintenance: Ensure accurate and complete data in the General Ledger, following GAAP.
• Journal Entries: Record financial transactions via journal entries, including accruals and prepayments.
• Reconciliation: Regularly reconcile balance sheet accounts, identifying and resolving discrepancies.
• Financial Analysis: Analyze financial statements to spot trends, variances, and anomalies.
• Month-End and Year-End Closing: Contribute to timely and accurate closing processes.
• Compliance: Ensure adherence to financial regulations, working with external auditors and regulators when needed.
• Financial Reporting: Assist in preparing reports for both internal and external stakeholders.
• Documentation: Maintain organized and accurate financial records and audit trails.
• Process Improvement: Seek opportunities to enhance financial operations through process improvements and automation.
• Ad Hoc Projects: Contribute to special financial projects to support organizational goals.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Accounting experience with General Ledger focus.
• Proficiency in accounting software and GAAP.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills.
• Effective communication and teamwork.
• CPA certification preferred.
• Tax knowledge a plus.
