Responsibilities:
- Perform dental examinations and diagnose oral conditions
- Develop treatment plans and provide appropriate dental care
- Administer anesthetics and perform dental procedures such as fillings, extractions, and root canals
- Interpret medical imaging such as X-rays and CT scans to assess dental health
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and preventive care
- Collaborate with dental hygienists, assistants, and other staff members to ensure efficient patient care
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records using electronic health record systems (Eaglesoft, Epic)
- Adhere to strict infection control protocols and maintain aseptic technique in all procedures
- Stay updated on advancements in dentistry and participate in continuing education programs
Requirements:
- Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from an accredited dental school
- Valid state dental license to practice dentistry
- Knowledge of dental anatomy, oral pathology, and medical terminology
- Proficiency in medical coding for accurate billing and insurance claims
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and confidentiality
- Experience working in a dental office setting preferred
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients and staff members
