Summary:
The job involves a project-focused role for Northern Trust Hedge Fund Services, a global fund administrator, specializing in administering assets of complex hedge funds, private equity funds, and hybrids. The successful candidate will be an ambitious self-starter who has demonstrated the ability to function as an effective and strategic leader in a dynamic, fast-paced and demanding environment. This individual will have a strong technical accounting background, private equity fund expertise, and a control minded focus.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with fund accounting teams to understand and solve business problems and build scalable operations to meet the service needs of a large portfolio of clients.
- Analyze operational procedures and processes, working with the client service teams to identify areas for automation, to reduce risk and improve efficiency and control.
- Interpret fund legal documents (LPA, PPM, etc.) and translate into accounting requirements.
- Work closely with technology resources to troubleshoot issues and scope new or desired functionality.
- Assist in building a high-performance team through learning, development, and mentoring.
- Carry out complex initiatives involving multiple disciplines and/or ambiguous issues.

Minimum Qualifications (Education, Experience, Skills):
- Self-starter with good problem solving skills.
- Ability to navigate ambiguity.
- Excellent interpersonal & communication skills, as this role requires interaction with multiple teams and partners.
- Ability to work under pressure and to prioritize effectively.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- A willingness to learn and be creative within the role.
- A minimum of 5 years of investment fund experience
- Experience with private equity funds, including carried interest waterfall calculations.
- Bachelor's degree with emphasis in accounting or finance
- Excellent Excel and MS Office skills
