Front Office Clerk/Receptionist

JOB SUMMARY
The Front Office Position is an integral part of the healthcare team. They will be responsible for scheduling, reception duties, answering phones, medical records, referrals, pre-authorizations, and other Front Office tasks as needed. This position works closely with the healthcare teams to ensure excellent customer service to our patients.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or equivalent
At least one year of general administrative/clerical or customer service experience
Current computer experience (medium to expert level) in Microsoft products
Demonstrated basic knowledge of Medical Terminology
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Some college coursework
Previous medical office experience with exposure to some or all of the following; o Insurance verification and pre-authorization fundamentals o Scheduling o High-volume phone systems o Medical records

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Serves as liaison by greeting and facilitating information to patients, families, staff, and visitors;
Collects patient demographic data accurately and completely;
Verifies payer information with patient each time the patient is registered;
Follows established procedures for scheduling appointments/visits for patients;
Follows established procedures for maintaining medical records;
Follows established procedures for assisting with chart abstraction when applicable;
Follows established procedure for patient payments and cash-handling including collecting co-pays and account balances;
