The receptionist greets patients as they enter the office, directs them to the appropriate area for their visit, and notifies the appropriate staff who will take care of them. Patients also check out with the receptionist by paying for their visit and/or making future appointments. The receptionist is also responsible for keeping a neat and clean reception area for the safety of others. On the job training will be required to fully train the candidate to be proficient in all areas.
The receptionist must possess good skills in verbal communication, listening, organization, and maintaining a cool demeanor at all times. Professionalism when dealing with doctors, other staff and patients is crucial to this position. Five years of work experience, a background in customer service, and the ability to demonstrate teamwork in past positions are required.
Compensation will be based upon education and experience. Cross training in the other areas of the office will be addressed in the interview
