ROLE SUMMARY:
The Front of House (FOH) Manager will focus on the coordination and oversight of the day-to-day operations, overseeing personnel and Front of House Managers. Where the General Manager (GM) is accountable for broad oversight and performance, the FOH Manager is more tactical. The FOH Manager may act as the GM in their absence and assists the GM in the following: sales/costs analysis, performance management, food quality, customer satisfaction, and cleanliness/sanitation. This position requires the ability to manage a large staff effectively and efficiently in a fast-paced restaurant/pub environment.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides consistent, perfected product knowledge and customer service and manages operations with passion, integrity, and knowledge.
- Continually improves proficiency, knowledge, and morale of all employees.
- Complete all relevant paperwork ensuring timeliness and accuracy including but not limited to (reporting, inventory, invoices, ordering, etc.).
- Fully understands and adheres to all federal, state, and local regulations pertaining to health, safety and food code.
- Directly manages all Front of House (FOH) operations and assists with (BOH) management as needed.
- Assists in the hiring, onboarding, supervision, training & development of employees.
- Holds employees accountable for performance/conduct, quality of service and product, and safety.
- Ensures proper scheduling is handled for all shifts.
- Drives operations to achieve budgeted performance goals and provides input on how to improve operations.
- Responsible for the execution of private events.
- Collaborates with pub management team in execution of special events.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- 1+ years of restaurant management experience required
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Chicago Food Service Sanitation Certification required
- Significant experience working FOH in bar/restaurant setting
- Must be able to handle the pressures of simultaneously coordinating a wide range of activities and recommend appropriate solutions to problems
- Strong leadership skills and an ability to take initiative
- Ability to manage people in a high-stress, fast-paced working environment
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to deal tactfully with difficult customers
- Basic to Intermediate level proficiency in office-related software
