House of Rental is a full-service Party, Event & Tent Rental company. Established in 1969. We are hiring a Dispatcher/ Warehouse Manager for 30,000 sq ft Skokie building . This position involves heavy phone contact with regard to party rental equipment and customer showroom appointments.
Experience with event planning, catering or rental industry preferred but not required.

Summer hours- Mon, Wed, Thurs and Fri 7am to 5:30pm and Saturdays 8-12
Winter hours-Mon, Wed, Thurs and Fri 7:30am to 5pm and Saturdays 8-12
Off Tuesdays

Dispatch/Warehouse Manager Position Tasks & Activities:
- Logistics Manager/Dispatcher/Delivery Coordinator on delivery and pick up schedule and monitor manpower requirements.
- Schedule daily delegation of workload. Change routing on the fly. Sometimes it requires re routing the entire route.
- Maintain inventory control of warehouse and update counter personnel on inventory daily.
- Supervise duties and activities of the warehouse and delivery personnel and observe day-to-day operations and special projects.
- Assist staff with various problems throughout the day.
- Assist sales staff when complaints and emergencies arise by investigating and solving the problem.
- Supervise the periodic cleaning, repair and refinishing of equipment.
- Keeps all shop repair & Maintenance paperwork for Insurance purposes.
- Coordinates store transfers and the flow of equipment from store to store.
- Meet with other members of management to discuss policies and problems and make recommendations.
- Stay informed of equipment failures and safety violations.
- Obtain information from drivers about equipment that is missing or broken upon pick up. Verify that drivers have filled out the appropriate forms and obtained customer’s signature. Collect forms at the end of the day.
- Verify counts from driver’s pick up tickets prior to unloading. Audit all trucks while unloading
- Verify driver has completed the paperwork according to company procedure.
- Train drivers in effective delivery requirements, forklift operation and safe driving practices.
- Train staff on the proper loading and unloading procedures. See that the procedures are being followed.
- Train staff on the proper cleaning procedures and oversee follow-through.
- Train staff on the “Ready to Rent” procedures and oversee proper usage.
- Delegate duties
- Review staffing needs
- Enforce company policies and procedures.
- Orders resale items for sale and supply
- Performs weekly inventory of rental equipment
- Schedule repair requests as needed for various departments.
- Maintain a repair journal
- Other tasks as assigned/needed.
