Front Desk Receptionist/Medical Assistant

Overview:

We are seeking a Front Desk Receptionist/ Medical Assistant to join our team. As the first point of contact for our office, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional customer service and ensuring smooth operations. The ideal candidate will have experience in a dental or medical office setting and possess strong organizational and communication skills. We are a small practice so we cross train our employees. We are hiring for Gardendale and our Colonnade location.

Responsibilities:

- Greet patients and visitors with a friendly and professional demeanor
- Answer phone calls, schedule appointments, and manage patient inquiries
- Verify insurance coverage and collect patient information
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records
- Assist with medical scheduling and coordination of patient care
- Adhere to HIPAA guidelines to ensure patient privacy and confidentiality
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure efficient workflow
- Perform general administrative tasks such as filing, faxing, and data entry

Qualifications:

- Previous experience as a receptionist, medical receptionist, or in a similar role is preferred
- Familiarity with medical office procedures and EMR Experience is a bonus.
- Proficiency in using electronic medical record systems such as Epic or similar systems
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $19.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 – 40 per week
