What We Expect:

Job duties include but are not limited to:

  • Report to work as scheduled, swiping in and out at specific times at beginning, lunch, and end of shift
  • Follow proper procedure for missed punches
  • Check-in/check-out guests courteously and efficiently
  • Process all payments according to established hotel requirements
  • Provide information for guest & visitor inquiries and coordinate all guest requests for special arrangements or services, courteously and efficiently
  • Inform guests of hotel services, features and room amenities & attend to the immediate needs of guests upon request
  • Ability to negotiate and persuade guests to upgrade and/or utilize the hotel's outlets to maximize the hotel's benefit
  • Ability to remain calm and positive when dealing with guests, co-workers, superiors and subordinates during intense emotional situations
  • Ability to memorize, recollect and quickly retrieve dates, names, times and other data from computers
  • Ability to work and complete tasks on time despite frequent interruptions
  • Perform job functions with speed, accuracy, and attention to detail
  • Answer department phones using proper greeting(s) and appropriate telephone etiquette
  • Acknowledge all guests in the lobby, anticipate guests' needs, and respond promptly at all times
  • Maintain positive guest relations at all times
  • Prioritize, organize and follow up on guest requests
  • Exercise good judgment and clear thinking in order to resolve problems when they arise ensuring guest satisfaction
  • Maintain confidentiality of guest information and pertinent hotel data
  • Maintain accuracy of cash bank, accurate cash handling transactions, secure cash at all times, and perform cashiering functions
  • Establish guest credit using secure credit card & cash handling procedures
  • Issue safe deposit boxes for guest use and ensuring security of deposit box keys
  • Meet with Manager On Duty on daily basis to discuss the day's scheduled activities, VIP guest arrivals & departures, house count, and strategies
  • Pre-register VIP and Curbside guests, and effectively communicate VIP arrivals to Manager On Duty and/or Guest Experience Supervisor to greet
  • Confirm guest requests, reservation details, communicate messages, and tailor hotel information to guest's needs
  • Accurate and thorough documentation of incidents or issues using the glitch database, and prompt communication of issues to Manager(s) on Duty
  • Demonstrate effective interdepartmental communication to ensure all guest requests and needs are addressed promptly and efficiently
  • Ability to assign guest rooms and accommodate room changes
  • Ability to investigate and resolve discrepancies regarding charges to guest accounts
  • Ability to perform daily checklist responsibilities efficiently and thoroughly
  • Ability to demonstrate thorough knowledge of the following:
    • All hotel features, services, and hours of operation
    • All room types, room layout, amenities, and floor plans
    • Room rates, rate availability, special packages and promotions
    • Reservation details, requests, and changes
    • Local restaurants, museums and attractions
    • Current events in and around the region


Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • 1-2 years previous Front Desk / front line Guest Service experience in a fast paced Hotel operation
  • Additional languages are a definite asset for career growth
  • Completion of Post Secondary Education in Hospitality or related field
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with ability to adapt based on needs of the guest.
  • Successful candidate must possess legal work authorization in the United States
