We are looking for someone to join our team as our Fractional Chief Technology Officer!

The Fractional CTO for Thompson Creek will serve as a visionary, steering the company through strategic use of technology to achieve long-term objectives. This role is critical for crafting a forward-thinking technology roadmap, emphasizing the strategic deployment of SAP solutions, and harnessing both internal and external resources to bring innovation and efficiency to the forefront of our operations. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a history of aligning SAP initiatives with corporate goals, fostering innovation in an SAP environment, ensuring efficient use of SAP ERP and CRM solutions, and exhibiting expertise in implementing and managing SAP S/4HANA, along with proficiency in SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) solutions. The expertise in data strategy will guide the organization in unlocking the potential of data to drive business growth, operational excellence, and competitive advantage.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

• Strategic Vision and Leadership: Develop a technology strategy that integrates with the company's business objectives, emphasizing innovation and efficiency. Lead the assessment and strategic application of emerging technologies, ensuring they align with business goals.
• SAP Ecosystem Mastery: Drive the strategic implementation and optimization of SAP solutions across the organization. This involves overseeing the integration of SAP S/4 HANA for streamlined operations and utilizing SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) for developing and extending enterprise applications.
• Innovation and Operational Efficiency: Champion the identification and adoption of digital transformation initiatives. Focus on automating processes and implementing cutting-edge solutions that improve productivity, reduce costs, and enhance overall business operations.
• Resource Management and Collaboration: Oversee the allocation and management of both internal IT resources and external technology partners to ensure projects are delivered effectively. Foster collaboration across departments to ensure technology solutions meet business needs.
• Project Leadership and Execution: Apply rigorous project management methodologies to lead major IT initiatives from conception through to successful execution. Ensure that projects align with the strategic vision, are completed on time, within budget, and deliver measurable business outcomes.
• Stakeholder Engagement and Communication: Act as a key liaison between the IT department and other business units. Effectively communicate technology strategies and benefits to non-technical stakeholders, ensuring buy-in and support for IT initiatives.
• Technology Governance and Risk Management: Establish and maintain policies and procedures for technology governance. Assess and mitigate risks associated with IT operations and technology investments, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
• Budget and Project Management: Develop and manage the technology budget, ensuring optimal resource allocation and cost-effectiveness. Oversee project lifecycles, from initiation to completion, ensuring successful delivery within scope, budget, and timeline.
• Team Leadership: Recruit, develop, and retain top-tier SAP talent, ensuring a skilled and motivated workforce, utilizing in house team, onshore and offshore consultants. Lead and inspire a high-performing technology team focused on SAP, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment focusing on company values.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

• Proven experience in a senior technology leadership role, ideally as a CTO or consultant, with a strong focus on strategic planning and execution in an SAP environment.
• Deep understanding of SAP ERP, CRM, S/4HANA, and SAP BTP required, with a track record of leveraging these tools to drive business success.
• Exceptional ability to communicate complex technological concepts to non-technical stakeholders, ensuring alignment and understanding across the organization.
• Strong project management skills, with experience leading cross-functional teams and managing external resources to deliver technology projects successfully.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Business, or related field, with 10-15 years of relevant experience in IT operations and strategy.
