We are searching for a dynamic Chief Executive Officer to join our team. This person will be CEO of MSO and the Capital Digestive Care Practice Group

The role requires flexibility and availability for travel within the DC, VA, and MD regions. The CEO should be willing and able to work in the field, from home, or at the Silver Spring Office as needed to effectively fulfill the responsibilities of the position.

What you do:

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) holds a dual responsibility overseeing the success of Capital Digestive Care (CDC) and its partnering Management Services Organization (MSO), PEGM. In this integral role, the CEO collaborates with SCAH Leadership, PEGM Board, and CDC leadership to develop and execute a strategic growth plan. Key responsibilities include leading the management team in the planning, organization, and direction of the MSO operations and CDC practices, along with all associated ancillary services.

The CEO's oversight extends to ensuring the overall fiscal, operational, clinical, and compliance health of both the practice and the MSO. By representing the interests of internal stakeholders and external constituents in healthcare, government, and the business sector, the CEO plays a crucial role in fostering a culture of transparency, civil discourse, continuous learning, and a commitment to excellence across all aspects of both the CDC practices and the MSO operations.

What you will be working on:

  • As directed by the SCA and the PEGM Board, the CEO leads and executes the strategic initiatives and growth objectives of MSO, the physician office sites and all ancillary services.
  • Collaborates with the executive management team to achieve financial results that are acceptable to partners, within industry norms and within parameters/covenants as established by financial partners and under the guidelines set by SCA.
  • Identifies and implements revenue enhancement and cost savings opportunities and negotiates payor and vendor contracts
  • Monitors and communicates monthly key financial, operational, and clinical performance metrics for the practice and actively oversees performance and process improvements
  • Oversees key investments, business partnerships and financial decisions and communicates same to SCA and the PEGM Board
  • Monitors and improves MD shareholder satisfaction, employee engagement and patient satisfaction. Creates a culture of service and leads by example.
  • Enables practice workflow solutions, procedures and standards for the practice and ensures consistent implementation, communication, and enforcement.
  • Standardizes business processes to reduce variation and the cost of doing business in collaboration with practice operators and administrators
  • Serves as the lead executive support for the PEGM Board and its related committees. Regularly communicates practice performance through reports and presentations to the Board and executive management team.
  • Supervises, develops and motivates the management team; ensures that they have the ongoing training and support to function effectively in their roles. Fosters an environment of accountability for the team at all levels.
  • Create a positive workplace atmosphere with high levels of retention

What you know:

To be successful in this role you will have the following experience or knowledge:

  • MBA is preferred but not required with appropriate experience.
  • GI experience is preferred, but not required with appropriate practice leadership experience.
  • 8+ years’ experience in Executive leadership in healthcare, specializing in private physician practice management.
  • Successful oversight of or deep experience with Management Services Organizations (MSO) in the healthcare industry.
  • Track record of enhancing key performance metrics in financial, operational, and clinical areas.
  • Strong financial acumen, achieving acceptable results and navigating partner-set financial parameters.
