Essential Functions & Responsibilities
- Communicates and coordinates the exchange of Food Safety audit information with customers.
- Ability to work in and navigate through multiple software portals.
- Document management and data entry.
- Assist with the creation and management of standard operating procedures, policies, specifications, and logs.
- Assists and supports with supplier onboarding and the supplier approval process.
- Supports and improves processes and programs that will improve Food Safety and the department.
- Ability to travel by car or airplane with overnight stays.
- Be a positive influence to a growing Food Safety culture.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience or knowledge of Good Agricultural Practices (GAP’s) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s).
- Experience or knowledge of private 3rd party Food Safety audits; specifically Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) audit schemes.
- Familiarity with regulatory agencies and their requirements; specifically, the Food & Drug Administration (FDA) and the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA).
- Bilingual in English & Spanish.
Reports to
- Works with the Global Food Safety Team.
- Reports directly to Food Safety Manager & Director of Food Safety & Compliance and indirectly to the Vice President of Operations.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Business, Food Science, Food Technology Microbiology or relevant discipline
- 0-3 years’ Experience working in industry
