Job Details

The Food Safety Specialist will be primarily responsible for:
The development and maintaining of all of our Foods HACCP/HARPC Food Safety Programs and any supporting documentation
Continually working with our Foods customers to ensure that our Quality and Food Safety Programs meet their requirements
The supervision, and management, of the Food Safety Coordinator role
Collaborating with the Quality Services, Manufacturing, Maintenance and Sanitation Teams, along with regulatory agencies, to achieve compliance with all Food Safety requirements ensuring safe and legal finished goods
Managing the off-site product release protocols
Collect, organize and review records daily
Assist in certification, customer and regulatory audits
Qualifications for the Food Safety Specialist include:
A Bachelor’s Degree in Biology, Biochemistry or Microbiology required. Candidates with an educational/experiential background in microbiology or chemistry is also helpful
Knowledge of current USDA/FDA regulations and have the ability to research resources to best understand regulatory changes
Experience managing external audits with customers, vendors and regulatory agencies
Having a keen attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize; following instructions and following-through to achieve results
Possessing a high level of personal initiative and motivation
