Fleet Maintenance Clerical Assistant

Responsibilities:

· Provide comprehensive administrative support to the Fleet Manager and the Transportation Department.

· Maintain and update electronic and physical records of vehicle inspections, maintenance, and driver records.

· Assist in communication between the Fleet Manager, drivers, and other departments within the company.

· Prepare and process various transportation-related documents, such as shipping orders, bills of lading, and compliance paperwork.

· Maintain inventory of essential supplies and parts for vehicles.

· Generate reports on vehicle maintenance, fuel usage, and performance metrics as required.

· Ensure that all transportation activities adhere to safety, environmental, and regulatory guidelines, including those specific to the transport of hazardous materials.

· Coordinate with vendors for vehicle servicing and maintenance.

· Be prepared to assist in emergency response situations, including chemical spills or accidents, by providing necessary records and documentation.

Qualifications:

· Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.

· Excellent attention to detail to maintain accurate records and documentation.

· Effective written and verbal communication skills.

· Proficiency in using office software and transportation management systems.

· Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures, especially related to chemical transportation.

· Ability to work effectively within a team and communicate with drivers and other staff.

· Capability to handle unexpected issues and adapt to changing circumstances.

· Maintain a high level of confidentiality when dealing with sensitive information.

· Experience: Previous administrative or transportation-related experience is a plus.

· Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with transportation regulations and compliance standards is beneficial.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 - $27.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
