Fitness Attendant

Fitness Attendants are primarily responsible for providing a clean, safe and helpful workout environment for the clients of Nautilus Fitness, as well as provide assistance to those working out. The Fitness Attendant welcomes guests and works to ensure that they have an enjoyable experience. Additionally, Fitness Attendants will be responsible for cleaning areas and assisting with Fitness Orientations when needed.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Maintain a positive and friendly attitude while greeting and assisting clients
• Ensure a safe workout environment through constant supervision of the floor
• Verify a member's eligibility as they check in
• Register members and process payments
• Be able to answer basic fitness questions and basic knowledge of the equipment.
• Be available to set up any user on any piece of equipment or weight machine.
• Keep the fitness floor clean and make sure all weights are in their proper place
• Be able to perform closing duties such as cleaning restrooms and showers. Map floors and vacuum gym.
• Clean equipment on a timely basis
• Assist with checking in group exercise classes
• Enforce all building policies and procedures, such as proper dress code for all users
• Report any incident of injury, theft, or broken equipment to the supervisor on duty
• Complete tasks assigned by supervisor
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and fellow peers

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Team oriented, and a desire to learn
• Ability to work with limited supervision
• Effective communication and organization skills
• Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office)
• Preferred: Current American Red Cross CPR/AED and First Aid certifications
