Fire Protection Design Specialist

The Fire Protection Design Specialist is capable of designing Fire Protection systems in the Revit environment and should understand common layout practices of sprinkler systems, hydraulic calculations, and generating a stocklist for system fabrication. This role will aid the Digital Solutions (DS) team in the development and maintenance of Revit content (families) and provides support and training on the software offerings from the DS team. This individual should become proficient on the software developed by the DS team and will aid in the Quality Assurance (QA) stages of development. This role will also aid in other miscellaneous duties as needed related to the DS software development process.

Existing knowledge of the DS software offerings is not required.

FIRE PROTECTION DESIGN SPECIALIST RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop and maintain BIM content (Revit families) for Viking product offerings
• Help QA and test DS software offerings
• Aid in training, support, and development of training content for software offerings
• Become proficient in the usage and features of software developed by the Digital Solutions team
• Provide input to the development process based on common industry practice / design experience
• Performs other duties as assigned

FIRE PROTECTION DESIGN SPECIALIST REQUIREMENTS:

• Strong written / verbal communication and problem-solving capabilities
• Comfortable with Windows based computer applications
• Ability to become proficient on various Fire Protection related software offerings developed by the Digital Solutions team
• 1+ year of Revit experience (required)
• 1+ year of Fire Sprinkler Design experience (required)
• Experience with Revit family development (preferred)
• NICET water-based system layout (preferred)
