Job Summary
Install, program, repair, or service the Fire Alarm Systems and other related equipment by following the blueprints of building plans and electrical layouts.
Job Duties
- Install, maintain, or repair security systems, Fire Alarm devices, or related equipment
- Respond to customer service request calls (if needed)
- Diagnose problems and develop solution
- Contact the office or Customer Support for assistance if needed.
- Confirm supplies and equipment for each day’s work
- Read and follow blueprints of home or building plans and electrical layouts
- Demonstrate to customer how the system works
- Conduct inventory of equipment in van.
- Keep company vehicle organized and clean inside and out
- Report company vehicle issues, accidents, tickets, etc.
- Performs inspections of Fire Alarm Systems
- Utilize FireNSpec to complete Fire Alarm inspections, upload documentation and submit upon completion
- Complete Job Orders, contracts, and all other paperwork daily
- Communicate problems, customer concerns, or if unclear about anything with the job with Salesperson and/or Operations Manager.
- Ensure all alarms, wiring, and equipment meets relevant safety codes and standards.
- Maintain NCASLB requirements.
- Assign jobs as lead
- Working independently on Service tickets (when assigned)
- On-call or progressing toward being on-call
- Fire-Lite Certified (or equivalent)
- Complete ESA Training Requirements
- Assist/Development of Technicians
Required Skills
- Knowledge of Security and Fire Alarm Systems
- Customer Service
- Interpret the technical issues given by customers
- Low voltage experience
- Work independently
- Troubleshooting
- Critical / Logical Thinking
- Proficient in Math
- Read & interpret schematics and technical specifications
- Basic operational knowledge of hand tools and test equipment
- Basic knowledge of networking
- Safe driving habits
- Good written and verbal communication
Physical Requirements
Field environment which may involve work in adverse weather conditions
Able to lift 50 lbs
Walking, crawling, climbing, bending, kneeling, handling (use of hands and fingers)
