Job Description
*WE ARE LOCATED IN CONCORD, NC*
Assist with Forman assigned work daily in the following areas:
- Fire Alarm Systems (addressable & non-addressable)
- Burglar Alarm Systems
- Camera Systems (HD Analog and IP cameras)
- Access Control Systems (wireless points capable for remote areas)
- Fire extinguisher/emergency light inspection and replacement
- Data Cabling
- Fiber Optic Cabling
- Mass Notification
- Audio/Video
- Perform assigned Access Control and CCTV system commissioning using industry standards configuration and commissioning tools.
- Troubleshoot and resolve basic CCTV, Access Control, Card Reader, Locking Hardware and Server/Programming related problems.
- As well as servicing Fire Alarm devices and or inspecting them.
- Responds to basic warranty calls.
- Provide Sales and Technical Support.
- Maintains, troubleshoots, repair, installs, inspects smoke and fire suppression systems. (Addressable and non-addressable)
- Installs, repairs, and inspects smoke and fire suppressions systems, inspects tests, and repairs Fire Alarm wiring, Fire Alarm panels, and peripheral equipment.
- Identifies hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair.
- Inspects, repair, or replace smoke/heat detectors.
- Tests Fire Alarm systems using appropriate diagnostic programs and equipment.
- Ensures that work is in accordance with relevant codes.
- Performs other general building maintenance as assigned.
- Ability to operate drills, conduit benders, drill presses, cable pullers, meters (volt, OHM, AMP, MEG) hand drills, hand tools and power tools.
- Ability to read blueprints, and schematics.
- Ability to use a computer/smartphone device, and apps.
- Ability to use diagnostic program, and other applicable diagnostic software and equipment.
- Ability to perform true test smoke detector sensitivity procedure.
- Ability to perform routine maintenance on equipment and determine when and what kind of maintenance is needed.
Fire Alarmand Security Installation Technician Assistant Qualifications:
- High school graduate/GED certification.
- Ability to work in safe and efficient manner.
- Demonstrated technical aptitude.
- Able to use hand and power tools (i.e. drills, saws, etc.).
- Computer and networking skills required.
- Attention to detail.
- Good communication and listening skills.
- Depending on location, the mounting and termination of low voltage devices may have special licensing requirements.
- Must be able to obtain your alarm license if you do not already have one.
- Must have drivers license
Physical Requirements: Standing, walking, driving, climbing/ladders, squatting/kneeling reaching, grasping, pushing/pulling, twisting/bending, lifting/carrying up to 50lbs. or more multiple times per shift, fingering, talking, hearing, and seeing.
Working Conditions: Most time spent indoors, but possible exposure to extreme hot/cold temperatures for one hour plus when working outdoors. Possible exposure to distracting/uncomfortable noise levels, and vibration of body or extremities.
