The Financial Analyst role entails overseeing two annual budgets, as well as handling monthly and annual accounting and financial reporting. Collaborating closely with both the fiscal department and operations will be a regular part of the job. Some travel may be required, and telecommuting privileges are available for this position.
Work arrangement:
- 6-8 weeks for training – 3 days a week in the office
- September – October – daily in office (due to state budget deadlines)
- Various days throughout the year based on deadlines
- The above is performed in our Coraopolis, PA office.
Job Responsibilities:
- Examines budget estimates for completeness, accuracy and conformance with procedures and regulations.
- Prepares and analyzes monthly departmental budgeting and accounting reports for the purpose of maintaining expenditure controls and for budget preparation.
- Works with program staff to explain financial performance of their programs on a monthly basis. Assist staff in trouble shooting areas under or over budget.
- Examines requests for budget revisions and drafts recommendations for approval/denial.
- Reviews monthly billing/reports for Title XIX Waiver Programs.
- Assists with budget documentation gathering and maintains budgetary records.
- Assembles fiscal and statistical data for use in budgetary evaluations and maintains files of budgetary information. Ensures revenue recorded is accurate and reasonable. Explain variances to budget.
- Assists with proper expenditure coding and documentation preparation.
- Participates in monthly close process.
- Performs related work as required.

Requirements:- Bachelor of Science or Associates in Accounting or Finance.
- 1 to 3 years' experience is preferred but not required.
- ODP knowledge is preferred but not required.
- Excel knowledge and experience is required.
- Ability to learn new concepts, processes, systems, changes in regulation, etc. and continue to learn as the general operating environment continues to change and evolve.
- Ability to comprehend program goals, objectives and operations, and to relate these to budget analysis.
- Ability to prepare and interpret financial reports and statements.
Ability to organize and present clear and concise oral and written reports of findings andrecommendations.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with various department officials and staff associates.
- Ability to work additional hours beyond standard work week if necessary to meet ODP or Corporate deadlines.
